House Of Ice
Here are a few shots of a long, COLD day. The station sent out a team ahead of us to flag the area and check for crevasses before we headed out, saws and hot chocolate in hand. Sixteen people in all bent there backs (at a wind chill of 80 below) to build our igloo, including digging a tunnel over five feet deep and ten feet long. We took turns resting inside before climbing back aboard our piston bullies, utterly exhausted, and heading for home. . .
Making an igloo is a lot of work. Especially when it's ten feet wide. . .
